PROTECT ME FROM EVIL
Also protect me from any evil and see that I am never put to shame. (1 Ch 4:10, I Pet 2:6)
Guard my life, and deliver me from the hand of the wicked. (Ps 97: 10) I pray that you will put a hedge of protection around me and my household and everything in it. (Job 1:10)
Equip me with your full Armor (Eph 6:13-17):
Belt of Truth – May the Spirit of truth guide me into all truth. (Jn 16:13) Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth. (Ps 86:11) Bring me to a knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4), that I may believe and love the truth (2 Th 2:10), correctly handle the truth (2 Tim 2:15), and speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15). May I belong to the truth (1 Jn 3:19), obey the truth (1 Pet 1:22), live by the truth (1 Jn 1:6), and be faithful to the truth (3 Jn 3). I pray that I will always work with others for the truth (3 Jn 8), and love others in the truth (2 Jn 1), so that the truth will live in me (2 Jn 2), and be seen in me (1 Jn 1:8), and be with me forever. (2 Jn 2)
Breastplate of Righteousness – May I seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. (Mt 6:33) May I hunger and thirst for righteousness. (Mt 5:6) May I be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ (Phil 1:11), so that in him I might become your righteousness. (2 Cor 5:21) May I die to sins and live for righteousness (1 Pet 2:24), becoming a slave to righteousness, fully obedient to (Rom 6: 16-18) the righteousness that comes from you through faith in your son Jesus Christ. (Rom 3:22) Guide me in the paths of righteousness for your name’s sake (Ps 23: 3), so that my righteousness might shine like the dawn. (Ps 37:6)
Feet fitted with Readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace – May I not be ashamed of the gospel (Rom 1:16), but may I fulfill my duty to proclaim the gospel (Rom 15:16) entrusted to me by you. (1 Th 2:4)
Shield of Faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one – Help me to resist the devil and stand firm in the faith (1 Pet 5:9), being sure of what I hope for (Heb 11:1) and holding firmly to the faith I profess. (Heb 4:14) I pray that my faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on your power (1 Cor 2:5), becoming a sincere faith (1 & 2 Ti 1:5) expressing itself through love. (Gal 5:6) May I live by faith (Gal 2:20) and reach unity with others in the faith (Eph 4:13), being strengthened in the faith as I was taught and overflowing with thankfulness. (Col 2:6)
Helmet of Salvation – My salvation comes from you. You alone are my rock and my salvation. (Ps 62:1-2) May I grow up in my salvation (1 Pet 2:2) as I continue to work out my salvation with fear and trembling. (Php 2:12) Help me to remember that in repentance and rest is my salvation, in quietness and trust is my strength. (Is 30:15)
Sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (Ps 119:105) Help me to keep my way pure by living according to your word. Teach me your decrees and help me to hide your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Ps 119:9-12) I pray that I will not merely listen to your word, but that the word of Christ will dwell in me richly (Col 3:16) so that I will do what it says. (Jas 1:22)
May your armor protect me and strengthen me at all times.
