Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;

O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that I receive.
It is in pardoning that I am pardoned.
It is in dying that I am born to eternal life. (St. Francis of Assisi)

Help me to flee from all harmful desires, and instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. I want to fight the good fight of the faith, taking hold of the eternal life to which I was called. May I keep your commands without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which you will bring about in your own time. (1 Tim 6:11-15)
Help me to be humble and contrite in spirit, that I might tremble at your word. (Isa 66:2) May I never boast except in the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and me to the world. (Is 1:17) I pray that I will not be timid, but that you will fill me with the spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline (1 Tim 2:7), that I might bear much fruit. (John 15:8)
